Cayuga Community College Men's Soccer scored five goals in the first 15 minutes of play on their way to a dominant home win over Tompkins Cortland Community College on Wednesday.
The Spartans saw 11 players score in a 13-0 triumph, led by Matthew Twigg's second hat trick of the season. Cayuga has now won five straight contests and is 5-1 on the season.
Cayuga opened the scoring less than two minutes into the match, with Zander Wishart scoring off an assist from Joseph Edet and Owen Steedman. Twigg scored his first two goals just minutes later, on assists from Steedman, Matthew Chitty, Aidan Etuazim and Max Bedford. The Spartans eventually led 8-0 at halftime.
In the second, Cayuga added five more goals, including scores by Toshko Toshkov, Evan Pollino, Cameron Ray, Charlie Klinger, and Joseph Edet.
Also scoring in the match were Dodanum Berhane, Kai Reading, Josh Murray and Aidan Murney. Steedman and Edet had three assists, and Chitty, Bedford, Etuazim, Wishart, Llyam Curtis and Lucas Panayi had two assists apiece.
Cayuga travels to Rochester on Saturday, September 27, to take on undefeated Division II Monroe Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
