Cayuga Community College Men's Basketball dropped a road game to Onondaga Community College on Saturday before winning their final home game of the season against Jefferson Community College on Sunday.

The Spartans trailed by just four at halftime to the Lazers before losing 102-73, but responded with a strong defensive performance Sunday in an 84-69 win over the Cannoneers. Cayuga is now 5-17 on the season.

Cayuga and the Lazers traded the lead throughout the first half before OCC built an eight-point margin late in the frame. Free throws from Josiah Murphy cut the score to 46-42 late in the first half, but OCC dominated the second half for the win.

Murphy had 19 points, Yaqub Drammeh had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Kirk McFarlane had 16 rebounds. Codie Patrick had nine points and seven rebounds.

Against the Cannoneers, the Spartans held an 11-point halftime lead. They dominated the opening minutes of the second half, growing the lead to 28 points behind a 31-14 run to take control.

Drammeh had a fantastic game, finishing with 24 points and 17 rebounds. Patrick had 10 points and four rebounds, Murphy had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Jai Clayton had 10 points, and McFarlane had eight points and eight rebounds.

The Spartans are on the road Wednesday at Corning before traveling to Tompkins Cortland CC on Saturday for their regular season finale.
