Cayuga Community College Men's Basketball lost a pair of road games to Clinton Community College and North Country Community College over the weekend.

A spirited second-half comeback fell just short against Clinton in a 64-62 loss on Saturday, and then the Spartans had trouble getting started against North Country in a 77-51 loss. The Spartans are now 2-11 on the season.

Against Clinton, the Spartans trailed by 11 at halftime and were behind by single digits for much of the second half before starting to narrow the margin. Free throws from Kirk McFarlane cut Clinton's lead to two, and seconds later a three-pointer from Ryan Cameron put the Spartans in front by one.

The teams traded the lead in the final minutes, with neither team building a lead of more than two. Clinton sank a late jumper, though, and the Spartans missed a last-chance three-pointer.

Jadeir Breedlove had 15 points against Clinton, and McFarlane and Jai Clayton both had 14 points. Yagub Drammeh had 11 rebounds.

Against North Country, the Spartans started well defensively but were unable to build a lead on the offensive end. They trailed by 16 at halftime and were unable to cut into North Country's lead in the second half. Drammeh led Cayuga with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Marcus Pasha had 12 points.

Cayuga is on the road again against Genesee Community College on Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
